Sindistry Bio (1993-1996)
Originally as a 5-piece, Sindistry was formed in 1993 with Dave Barrineau/ Guitar, Jason Ochsner/ Vocals, Scott Walters/ Drums, Tom Hill/ Bass, & Wayne Wessells/ Rhythm Guitar.
After releasing their first "EP" Absolute early summer of "93", Sindistry immediately began to play in the Delmarva area. As a strong, young, up and coming Metal act, Sindistry was a band that really took stage with their shows, delivering a powerful blow with their own personal style.
Differences in the band's creative outlook began to emerge six months after the release of Absolute, which lead to a different 5-piece line-up. When bass player Tom Hill and drummer Scott Walters left Sindistry to form the band Path, Wayne Wessells suggested his former band mates.
Dave Barrineau and Jason Ochsner had both heard a couple of recordings of the three and liked what they had heard, John Wagner on guitar, Frank Moscater on drums and Wayne on his primary instrument, the bass. They had a very heavy sound with catchy groove-like riffs. All they really needed was a singer to complete the puzzle.
The band transformation was very exiting but very eye-opening at the same time. John, Wayne, and Frank were definitely a unit, and it was much harder for Dave and Jason adjusting to them, than the idea of the three joining Sindistry.
The band went on to record their first demo together,
Is There?, which contained the tracks "Is There", "Suffer Your Fate" & "Pain of Conscience". The band continued to play live shows, and was getting even better opportunities to play larger venues.
After a year or so, Dave Barrineau decided to leave the band.
Currently Dave is living in Florida with a degree in physics enjoying surfing and a substantial career. Jason, John, Wayne, & Frank decided to go on and continue as Sindistry. Later that year they would return to the studio to record their new demo (tracks unknown).
Sindistry Bio (1996-2003)
After some time off, Sindistry regrouped with a new surge of energy. The band started to remove itself from the use of other studio facilities and began to produce their own material. The band converted their practice space (Frank's Garage) into a split room studio and began recording their first E.P. under the publishing name "Hatemaid Music" .
What's Real?
consisted of the tracks: "Tunnel Vision", "Hole in me", "Wookalar" & "Dog of reverie". It showed that the band was interested in a more versatile sound to its concept. Although it recieved mixed reviews from local fanzines, the E.P. was made available at local record stores and new fans & friends began to emerge.
Sindistry immediately followed up with their second E.P.
Hit The Ground. The E.P. contained the tracks: "Hit the ground", "Slow burning", "Bread" & "Down the throat". The E.P. was accepted with open arms among the fans. The track "Bread" was favored with many and was a first time radio play for Sindistry.
In 1999 Sindistry released their first Album, self titled. It was a major effort for the band to release this CD on the account of the hurricane that hit in the area of Sindistry's studio. It devastated the studio with an 4 ft of flooding. A lot of equipment was lost, including the master tape of their album.
The band was greatly disappointed with the disaster of the hurricane. After a great deal of debating, the band decided to use the last attempted mix of the tape, rather than rerecord their last 8 months of work. A decision that was painful but still rewarding.
The CD was a mix of a few of the favored songs of the two previous E.P.'s as well as some new tracks; "Slow Burning", "Clayman", "Wookalar", "Dog of reverie", "What I seem", "Bread", "Down the throat", "Wither", "One last dime", "Stalefish", & "Twisted and fallen".
After the CD's release, the album was well excepted and celebrated by friends and fans, and it even received some local radio plays on a few of it's tracks. The band also signed a management deal with Creative Marketing Techniques (CMT) and began to play shows further abroad leading them from California to New York.
During this time, the band was already in effort of recording a sophomore album entitled:
Discord Harmony. It contained a group of new songs; "No Resolutions", "On your feet", "Erased", "Smack the Sun", "Paper thin", "Life", "Feed", "Livid", "Glasshouse creepy", "Mad Rain", as well as one old favorite, "Dying to be".
Unlike the first CD, this album's concept was much harder than it's predecessor. The band used seven-string guitars with alternate tunings as well as a more intense vocal approach. It possessed some really good key tracks, but due to litigation, the album was not able to see the light until 2009.
Bad blood between Sindistry and CMT began to emerge when CMT started planning shows with unrealistic expectations. Even though both Sindistry and CMT lost a lot of money on a few accounts, CMT wanted Sindistry to pay for it all. CMT's failure to listen to the band's wishes and ideas lead to resentment and mistrust. On top of it all, CMT was not as excited about
Discord Harmony as Sindistry was. They did not think it's songs were as marketable as some of the songs on the first CD, due to it's much heavier concept. After a lot of turmoil between the two parties, album was shelved and was never officially released in 2003.
Sindistry (2009 - Present)
In May of 2009, the Sindistry match was lit again, when Jason, John, Wayne, & Frank got together to jam for the first time in 6 years.
It was like the dogs of a pack where put together in the same cage. Instant gratitude and excitement for this long awaited opportunity, was on everyone's faces. They sat and talked for hours about everything they had encountered over the years. Finally the ice was broken, and they powered up the amps and took off where they had left off.
Everyone was concerned about what this gathering of minds was to become. Everyone had grown so much from their taste in music over the years. They were very worried about their past failures and mistakes. They even worked hard on trying to find a new name for the band, to guarantee a fresh start.
For over a month everyone did not even try any of their older material. They just steady jammed on new visions and song ideas each one had. Finally they realized what the band's name was, and that was Sindistry. It seems no matter who you wish to become, you still must first be who you are and who you were, no matter what.
Currently, Sindistry has signed to LouderRecords. In 2011, Sindistry finished writing and recording their new studio album, Devil in the Details. The album is to be released spring 2012.
*No serious announcements of any major touring at this time, but it's bound to hit soon.
